Thank You 2015

I've tried my best to do a roundup of my "favorite" or 'best" photos from 2015 but it has been nearly impossible. I am of course sharing some images from some of my clients below but, honestly I have loved every single client I had this year. I am so grateful for the amazing people that have trusted me to capture milestones, projects, and moments in their lives.

One of the best things about being a photographer is all of the awesome people that come into your life. These clients made it possible for me to take a big leap and take my business full time so I will forever be grateful.

Woo, I can't believe this year is almost gone. It's been a big one for me! Thank you so much for working with, following along on Instagram and Facebook, and just generally being a part of my life and work!

And because I really can't say it enough, thanks 2015, you were a blast!

The Yeldezian Family

As the holidays approach I've been asked to capture images of lots of families and I couldn't love it more. I love documenting families in all of their stages and sizes!

The Yeldezians are celebrating their first Christmas as a married couple this year and they just had the most adorable fur baby join their team. I had a blast with Greg, Jen, and Zoe and I can't wait watch as their family grows!

The Cavazos Family

Meet, Lulu, Joe, Abby, and Joey. Adorable right?! I actually went to high school with Lulu so I was so excited when she told me she'd be in town and wanted to schedule a family session. It was great to meet Joe and her two kids and I was honored to help her announce the newest addition to the family!

The Nguyen Family - Houston Family Photographer

I had the best time with this cute family! We headed to Discovery Green to shoot their family session a few days ago. It was so fun getting to know Adam, Noah, and their mom and dad. And let's not forget about the last ADORABLE  member of the family, Rocket!

Benjamin turns 1!

Had the pleasure of hanging out with this dapper dude the other day! That bow tie has me swooning (insert heart eye emoji) and those pretty eyes are going to have all the other girls swooning.

Emily turns 1!

I had the best time getting to know this little one! Emily loves books, has the wildest cutest hair, and is very into cake. Aren't we all?! It was a thrill to get to pre-celebrate her first birthday and watch her have her first taste of cake alongside her parents.

I can't get over those baby doll eyes and those cheeks. She was such a fun to photograph.

Ovarian Cancer Awareness

Did you know September was Ovarian Cancer Awareness month? I didn't, until recently. Earlier this month I had the honor of photographing a great group of Houston bloggers for Judy's Mission. Since then, I have been trying to educate myself on Ovarian Cancer, a topic that should be important to all women.

Lifestyle photographer Houston

"According to the National Cancer Institute, roughly 21,290 new cases of ovarian cancer will be diagnosed in 2015—yet 14,180 women will also die. The five-year survival rate for the disease is just 45.6 percent, compared to breast cancer's roughly 90 percent. Often, since early-stage symptoms of the cancer are very mild, we don't catch ovarian cancer until it's too late. In 61 percent of cases diagnosed, the cancer has metastasized, which reduces five-year survival rates to just 27.4 percent."

The paragraph above was a startling realization. Learning that there is currently no early detection for ovarian cancer has also been eye opening. These two articles are great, full of important digestible information, and I definitely recommend you take the time to read them.

Thankfully organizations like Judy's Mission are working hard to raise awareness and doing what they can to help in aiding those who can create a test for early detection .

I rarely make an appearance on my blog (especially when I've been at an early morning shoot with little to no makeup) but I was more than happy to join in, in the effort to spread awareness for this cause! Thanks for reading, now head over to Judy's Mission to learn more and get Megan's book for a heart warming and hilarious first hand account from a Ovarian Cancer survivor.

It's incredibly hard for me to describe what an honor it is to be invited into someone's home to capture their precious memories. It's an amazing job that just doesn't feel like a job when I get to hangout with so many fun, loving families. The Sinclair's are definitely the epitome on of that!

I recently had the pleasure of working on a fun collaboration with Jyoti of What Jo Craves and Kristen of Kristen Eide Photography. We headed up to the Lampasas Ridge Lavender Farm, hung out by a campfire, explored, and got some fun shots!

I'm so excited to share some of my shots from the shoot. Jo is a great model and it's always a pleasure to shoot alongside Kristen.  It has also been really fun to see how each of us interpreted our little adventure! It was also amazing to head up to Hill Country and explore a lavender farm in Texas! Who knew Texas had lavender farms, I'll have to share more shots of Lampasas Ridge Lavender Farm soon. For now check out my favorites of Jyoti.

Eric is an artist and branding strategist based in L.A., he created some amazing designs for Photo Field Trip. I took home two of his awesome designs plus a pair of super soft LuLaRoe leggings with his designs on them as well. Yea, I felt pretty lucky!

Emily Victoria

This is Emily Victoria, isn't she just a dream?!

Sometimes, I can't believe certain phrases come out of my mouth (in this case fingers), but there is just not better way to describe this little lady. I took Emily's newborn portraits at just 12 days old. Yes, 12! Her cousin and best friend, Mateo, jumped in for a quick few so grandma could have her two loves in one photo. Those cheeks kill me!

I had such a great time planning and shooting this session! Alondra was such a treat to photograph and it was so inspiring to bring showcase her style. I am so excited to show more of the session!

Isn't her little flower crown adorable? I loved how her confidence really shined in front of the camera. One of the wonderful things about being a photographer is getting to see people shine.

Vietnamese Wedding

A couple of week's ago I was lucky enough to help out the amazing P.S. August Photography team with a vietnamese wedding they were shooting.  I have been to a lot of weddings but never to a vietnamese wedding and it was such an honor to be included in the day. It was an incredible experience and I'm excited to share a little peek of the day!

The day traditionally starts early with a set of ceremonies: asking permission to receive the bride, receiving the bride at her house, and bringing the bride to the groom's house. And in the evening after the ceremonies, there is a wedding reception for the two families and guests.

One of my favorite aspects of the ceremonies was when every member of the each family was introduced to the other family by that family's representative, I loved how intimate it felt. The tea ceremony  was also beautiful! The bride and groom presented members of their family with a cup of tea and in turn  the family member presented the happy couple with a gift and well wishes. That was such a lovely event to experience. I totally teared up all day, of course, because I am all mush in a people suit!
