A couple of week's ago I was lucky enough to help out the amazing P.S. August Photography team with a vietnamese wedding they were shooting. I have been to a lot of weddings but never to a vietnamese wedding and it was such an honor to be included in the day. It was an incredible experience and I'm excited to share a little peek of the day!
The day traditionally starts early with a set of ceremonies: asking permission to receive the bride, receiving the bride at her house, and bringing the bride to the groom's house. And in the evening after the ceremonies, there is a wedding reception for the two families and guests.
One of my favorite aspects of the ceremonies was when every member of the each family was introduced to the other family by that family's representative, I loved how intimate it felt. The tea ceremony was also beautiful! The bride and groom presented members of their family with a cup of tea and in turn the family member presented the happy couple with a gift and well wishes. That was such a lovely event to experience. I totally teared up all day, of course, because I am all mush in a people suit!
